Introduction

“Orchid Insights (OI)” is a peer-reviewed journal committed to sharing high-quality research in the areas of science, technology, management and social sciences. It serves as a platform for researchers, academics, professionals, and students to publish their original research findings, innovative ideas, and reviews. OI invites contributions from diverse disciplines, including but not limited to Information Technology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Business Management, Economics, Education, and Social Sciences.

The journal is committed to promoting interdisciplinary research and encourages submissions that explore the intersections between different fields. OI publishes both theoretical and empirical research papers, as well as case studies and book reviews. The journal is published annually by the Orchid International College, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Journal’s Goals

The main objective of Orchid Insights (OI) is to create a forum for educators, researchers, academics, students, and professionals to exchange their research discoveries, innovative concepts, and insights in the realms of science, technology, and management. The journal strives to publish original, high-quality research that enhances knowledge in these fields. The size and content of each edition may vary, influenced by factors such as the quality of submissions, time constraints, the availability of reviewers, and the relevance of its scope to the research community.

Rules for Submission

  1. Originality: All submissions must be original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  2. Formatting: Manuscripts should be prepared according to the journal’s formatting guidelines, which can be found on the journal’s website.
  3. Language: Submissions must be written in English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts checked by a native English speaker or a professional editing service before submission.
  4. Length: Manuscripts should be of a length appropriate to the content, typically about 5000 words. Longer manuscripts may be considered, but authors should contact the editorial team prior to submission.
  5. Peer Review: All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer-review process, where both the authors’ identities and the reviewers’ identities are concealed from each other.
  6. Copyright: Authors retain the copyright to their work, but agree to grant the journal the right of first publication. Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for the use of copyrighted material in their manuscripts.
  7. Open Access: OI operates primarily as an open-access journal, ensuring that all content is accessible to readers without any cost. However, print versions of OI will be produced in limited quantities.
  8. Publication Ethics: Authors must adhere to the highest standards of publication ethics and are expected to declare any conflicts of interest. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification are considered serious ethical violations and will result in rejection or retraction of the manuscript.
  9. Submission Process: Manuscripts should be submitted online through the journal’s submission system. Authors will be required to create an account and follow the submission guidelines provided.
  10. Review Process: Upon submission, manuscripts will be reviewed by the editorial team for compliance with the journal’s guidelines. Submissions that meet the criteria will be sent for peer review. Authors will be notified of the outcome of the review process and any required revisions.

Frequency of Publication

The Journal ‘Orchid Insights’ is published annually before June.

Orchid Insights: Further Guidelines for Authors

  1. Paper Types

The Journal welcomes submissions of original research papers and review articles. These articles should include an Abstract, which should not exceed 150 words, and a Conclusions section. In the case of theoretical papers, the Conclusions section should interpret the results into terms that are easily understandable for most readers.

  1. Submission Declaration

By submitting an article to Orchid Insights, authors declare that the work described has not been published previously, is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and that all authors approve of its submission. If accepted, the article will not be published elsewhere, including electronically, in the same form, and will be published in English or any other language as approved by the journal.

The corresponding author is responsible for disclosing any conflicts of interest between authors and any other parties. The journal disclaims responsibility for the concepts, ideas, and views expressed in the published articles. Any violation of ethical standards will result in the retraction of the article.

  1. Submission Charges

Orchid Insights does not charge authors to pay any article processing charges, submission fees, or any other fees.

  1. Copyright and Permissions

The copyright for any research article published in Orchid Insights is retained by the author(s). By publishing in Orchid Insights, the authors grant the journal a license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher.

  1. Plagiarism Checking:

Plagiarism in ‘Orchid Insights’ is carefully checked to maintain the integrity of submissions. Submissions undergo comprehensive screening using plagiarism detection software, and authors are required to uphold a specific standard. Authors must cite all sources correctly and ensure their work is original. Manuscripts containing copied words or sentences in excess of the given limit may be rejected.

  1. Peer Review Process

Orchid Insights utilizes a blind peer review process. The editorial board oversees the entire process, while the editor assigned for pre-approval of the manuscript provides consent for review. Typically, the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is based on the reports of reviewers. The reviewers are experts from both local and international backgrounds.

The review process usually takes an average of 8 weeks. Authors are provided with up to 45 days to complete the revisions recommended by the reviewers.
